BARREL-AGED DRY RED WINE
Recommended: Decant 1 hour prior to drinking.
A Bordeaux-style red wine blend. 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc. The 2020 blend is lighter and more similar to the wines of the "Right Bank" of Bordeaux where Merlot is prominent in the blend. In fact, this vintage is reminiscent of Bordeaux reds in the Middle Ages, the lighter wines of the region's early centuries, in contrast to the heavier wines of Bordeaux today. Raspberry, black Cherry, plum, tobacco and vanilla flavors are prominent with some graphite and cedar undertones. A bit of savoriness with some fresh herbs and violet notes make this an excellent food-pairing wine. Medium body, medium tannins, and medium acidity. The Merlot was grown at Cascia Vineyards on Kent Island, MD and the Cabernet Franc was primarily grown at Villari Vineyards on the Outer Coastal Plain of New Jersey with a small amount of Pennsylvania Cab Franc as well. A blend of wines aged 8-14 months in barrel.
