Grown on our estate vineyard, ripened in the warm summer sun and chilled by nights at 6,200 ft., the 2023 Pinot Gris is a fascinating expression of crisp, green apple, pear, and citrus. Pair it with white fish, oysters, shrimp, and feta or mozzarella cheese.
In the Vineyard
While the vineyard is still recovering from the 2020 freeze and many vines are missing, we harvest 2 tons off our youngest planting. Picked into small lugs on October 9 and 10, the beautiful, pale purple fruit is delivered to the winery.

In the Cellar
After settling, the clear juice is transferred to fermenting tanks and inoculated. In an effort to understand what this new vineyard offers, no adjustment are made. The juice characteristics look great. The cool, slow fermentation runs to dryness October 20. Malo-lactic fermentation is prevented and, following cold and heat stabilization, the finished wine is flittered and bottled ready for a March release.
