There is more than a thread from Cabernet Sauvignon to sheep. It originated in a place famous for lamb since the Roman Era, over two thousand years of lamb supremacy. But the wines didn’t quite measure up. Then some plant breeder planted a seed, a cross of Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc, and Bordeaux changed. Cabernet Sauvignon has in 400 years become a major cultivar in the world of wine. Perhaps the finest place in the World it is grown is in Washington State on the hillsides of the valleys of the Columbia River. Since we have a small flock we like to have some of this wine in the cellar for the lamb in the freezer. And, of course, wild duck and goose, beef steaks, and Portobello mushrooms with our Bleu-Cheese Dip. Starting with our near-perfect fruit we avoided new oak, using older barrels to let the vineyard shine. Enjoy Cabernet Sauvignon au natural. Our intensive labor for canopy management continues to pay off. Zero spraying of vines, beautiful healthy grapes. Ingredients: 100% hand-picked sustainably grown organic grapes, oak chips, yeast, potassium metabisulfite, malolactic culture. We also used blood, sweat, tears, love, and laughter in the growing, elevating, and bottling.
