The Melissae were a triad of divinatory Priestesses in ancient Greece, referred to as "Priestesses of the Honey Bee." The Melissae were keepers of bees, tenders of the land, and makers of mead. Lemon Balm's real name is Melissa officinalis. Melissa means "bee" in Greek, referring to the delight bees have for the plant. We think you will agree with the bees! This sparkling mead is off-dry, light bodied & brightly acidic with citrus and herbaceous notes. Fresh harvested Melissa is from Footehill Farm in Colbert, WA. 6% ABV
