Height, altitude, rise and depth are all suitable translations of the Italian “Altezza.” Pair this wine with the hardy cuisine typical of Northern Italy, including mushroom risotto and polenta but also Italian hard cheeses such as pecorino and reggiano.
The 2019 Altezza is complex with fragrances cherry and mixed berry jam along with hints cinnamon, anise and cedar. On the weighty palate, the wine shows elements of cherry and cracked pepper along with notes of smoke and dark chocolate. On the finish, the refined tannin lingers with accents of cigar box and black pepper.
