The Altezza White has a bright, clear medium gold color. On the nose, citrus and toasty oak notes dominate with floral elements of body powder and perfume. On the palate a refreshing acidity blends with grapefruit and vanilla characters. Clear on the finish, the Altezza White lingers with the suggestion of citrus and spice.
Named for our favorite restaurant, Grandale is a lively blend with aromas that spring from the glass. A blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2016 Grandale exhibits intense Bordeaux characters. This tasty quaff will pair well with roasted poultry and hard cheese. Enjoyable right now, the Monarch will peak in mid-2019 and will age gracefully until 2020.
This medium-bodied, wine has a bright, ruby color. The bouquet highlights layers black cherry, cassis and cigar box along with the suggestion of cedar and baking spice. The aromas lead to a deep palate with flavors including blackberry and black pepper with elements of dried cherry. and anise. The full-bodied wine is rich and refined with well-integrated, ripe tannins giving good structure. The finish lingers with hints of leather and coffee. The finish exhibits oak and refined, mature tannins.
The 2019 868 Estate Vineyards Rosé is a mélange of four different red grapes available here at 868 Estate Produced in the Bordeaux tradition of saignée (bleeding of juice from a red wine), the pink juice is fermented cold to encourage crispness and fruit forward characteristics. Excellent as a “stand-alone” aperitif, this robust rosé will pair salmon steaks, tacos, fajitas and barbeque. The 868 Estate rosé is ready to consume anytime. Serve chilled.

The low yield in 2018 allowed 868 Estate to use the highest quality of barrels for this wine. The 2018 Chardonnay continues to be produced in the Chablis style and allowing the retention of its crisp acidity while maintaining sufficient body and structure to match with a range of different foods. Pair this wine seafood including oysters and other raw shellfish and sauteed shrimp but also with chicken piccata and vegetable risotto. The 2018 is a wine to enjoy now but will continue to impress throughout the year.

The much-anticipated return of Chambourcin is here. 868 Estate grew the 2019 in the vineyard planted along Harpers Ferry Road. Known for its intense color and smooth, approachable finish, this dry hybrid demonstrates the range of this popular east coast grape. The Chambourcin will pair with roasted chicken, summer barbeque and chocolate. This wine is ready to drink now and will improve over the next 12 months. Serve slightly chilled.

Powerful and complex now, the 2019 Cabernet Franc will develop over the next 18 months and then remain quite enjoyable for a couple of years after that.
The 2019 is the sixth Cabernet Franc vintage at 868 Estate and the vines have matured nicely. Highlighting a medium ruby color the 2019 Cabernet Franc displays intense aromas of raspberry and graphite complemented by notes of cigar box and white pepper. On the palate, characters of raspberry and black pepper are evident along with hints of pipe tobacco, dried herb and coffee. The Franc has a bold tannin profile and lingers on the finish with hints of leather and black pepper.
The 2016 868 Estate Vineyards’ Cabernet Sauvignon delivers dark, rich flavors. This muscular wine will complement fine cut of beef and game along with hard strong cheeses such as cheddar and Gruyère. Interesting and approachable now, this Cabernet Sauvignon has the structure to peak in 2 years and age nicely for up to 5 years.
Deep ruby in color, the 2016 868 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon demonstrates a concentrated, complex bouquet of raspberry, cherry preserves, strawberry and cassis. This wine has comparable elements on the palate with flavors ranging from black cherry and raspberry to leather and dark chocolate along with hints of black pepper and cedar. The pronounced tannins are assertive on the finish, coupled with memorable notes of spice and espresso.
