Frontenac is a dark-skinned, hybrid French-American grape variety, the result of a crossing made in 1978 between Landot Noir, and a native Vitis riparia vine, found near Jordan, MN, noted for its resistance to the cold. This University of Minnesota red grape was finally named and released in 1996. This vintage is oaked and has aromas of plum and black cherry. Great for boat rides with family.
