Amber wine, also known as orange wine, denotes the 4,000 year-old technique of fermenting white grapes on their skins and burying the resulting wine in amphorae (clay vessels) to age. We used the Traminette grapes for this wine. Although we didn't bury Corsage, we did ferment it at ground temperature (56 degrees) and aged it for two years in oak barrels. The result is a dry wine with a prominent aroma of Honeysuckle and Multiflora Rose. Dry oak finish and a somewhat creamy or buttery mouth feel.
