Barrel aged 15 months in French Oak, this Aronia wine is bone dry with just enough red grape wine added to top up the barrel. Aronia has a flavor reminiscent of pomegranate with hints of chocolate and tobacco and has high tannins. Great paired with red meats. Native to Michigan and some states further east, our Aronia comes from Montana and is hardy to 40 below!

Aronia melanocarpa (recently renamed Photinia melanocarpa) is a shrub native to the eastern U.S. hardy to -40°F! Popular in Russia and Poland since the 1950s, it came back to the US with much fanfare because of its huge antioxidant content. Notes of berry up front, especially pomegranate, with a hint of milk chocolate on the finish. Made entirely with Montana fruit. 2% sugar at finish (semi-sweet). Very dark!

GOLD 2020 Mid-American

Haskap is the Japanese name for an edible honeysuckle fruit, sometimes called Honeyberry. Common in Japan and Russia, this fruit is relatively new to the US and looks like a stretched out blueberry with beautiful yellow blossoms. Tasting: the approach is reminiscent of blueberry; midpalate brings nuances of raspberry turning to strawberry; then a hint of cranberry right at the finish. This is one of the most indescribable flavors we've tasted. Tongue River Winery was the first and only US Winery to release a haskap wine in 2012 and 2013.

Brothers is a blend of Leon Millot and Marechal Foch, grown in the Flathead Lake area of Montana. These two wines just love a bloody piece of meat! (medium rare steak, prime rib, etc.) Foch and Millot are 100 year old French American hybrid varieties. They are actually the same cross done opposite ways with the same parents, thus the name brothers. This is also a tribute to Gene Presser, the grower, and his brother Marvin whom he lost at Christmas, 2015.
