"Best of Class" 2020 San Francisco Chronicle
The oldest and most widely planted of American cultivars, originally known as Norton’s Virginia Seedling. American viticultural legend T.V. Munson worked extensively with Norton as breeding stock. It produces a dense, deeply flavored red wine. Our “little dixie” terroir is well suited to providing the extra ripeness Norton requires to show it’s magnificent best. In 2016, we produced a trio of distinctly expressive wines from our Norton vineyard. We have labeled them simply as lots 1, 2, and 3. Each is delicious and stands on it’s own-but it is side by side that they really sing of the evolution of the season through energy, finesse & intensity.
