The 100% Syrah was aged for 62 months. LDV Winery racked this wine about every 45 days instead of fining which results in softened tannin structure and smooth mouthfeel. This wine was aged in new American oak barrels. The Syrah picks up a touch of the smoke and spice because of the new oak. The wine was not fined or filtered.

Notes

This 100% Syrah exhibits traditional black and blue fruit like blackberry and blueberry. The wine has licorice & a wonderful gardenia floral note. The layers of flavors include dark cherry punctuated with vanilla & pepper on the finish. The soft tannins that create an ultra-creamy mouthfeel. Enjoy this wine with smoked cheddar cheese, grilled filet mignon, or New York strip steak.
