The Grenache from LDV estate vineyard in 2017 was a bit lighter in color than normal but there was a lot of ripe fruit characteristics. We chose to age the wine in a combination of new and one-year French oak to bring some spice and toast nuances to the wine. Extensive barrel aging integrated all the flavors and aromas without impacting its intriguing color. This wine is very sophisticated and approachable by itself or with food. Don't let the lighter color fool you, this wine punches through strongly with lots of flavor and character.

Notes

The wine's front palate shows bright acidity that contributes to a juicy middle & silky finish. Enjoy with a cheese & fruit plate, roast chicken or turkey, salmon or seared ahi tuna, & saffron prosciutto risotto.
