Norton
IA - Iowa
Also called Cynthiana, is a rich, full-bodied, dry red wine, similar in style to Cabernet Sauvignon, yet with the spiciness of a Zinfandel. Norton, however, possesses up to twice as much of the beneficial chemical (reservatrol) as, for example, Cabernet Sauvignon contains. Our Norton is aged in handcrafted white oak barrels from Missouri.
Norton, a grape cultivar believed to be largely derived from Vitis aestivalis. Notable for deep blue-purple pigmentation, the skin of Norton grapes has a higher content of anthocyanin antioxidants than other purple grape cultivars.
