Our Sonoma Coast Chardonnay is made from the fabled Wente clone and sourced from a cool coastal site. The fresh and powerful aromas of golden delicious apples, sweet pears and apple blossoms are coupled with a vague minerality and a touch of hazelnut. The delicate, pure aromas speak to the coolness of the site and are true to the quality of the Wente Clone of Chardonnay.
Flavors of quince, fresh pears and hazelnut flood the pallet, being both delicate and intense at the same time. A subtle minerality and flinty character takes hold in the finish to really bring the Chardonnay together all while remaining light on its feet. With only partial malolactic fermentation this Chardonnay retains some of the grapes native acidity. This acidity brings balance to the wine, giving it some depth, viscosity and richness while remaining malic acid keeps it centered.
