Wickersham Vineyard, in the highlands west of the city of Yakima, gave us another outstanding harvest. 2016 wasn’t as massive as our 2015 Cabernet, but the resulting wine is more quaffable when young, with a more floral nose and softer acidity. Firm, fruit-forward phenolics give the wine a delightful astringency, and a quenching mid-palate. The grapes were harvested at 25 degrees brix, so the wine is 15% alcohol, and like its namesake, Amberleigh, it is intoxicating!
