Spinosa is named after the botanical name for the blackthorn, Prunus spinosa, which produces sloe drupes. In Devon, UK, there’s a tradition to make cider using the sloe slurry left over from the distillation process for sloe gin. This sparkling cider is a blend of organic Sonoma County Gravensteins and Golden Delicious infused with whole sloes. The orange blush color is a natural result of this gentle infusion process. Pronounced aroma of almond (characteristic of sloes) and hibiscus. Flavors of marzipan and rosehips, and tropical fruit finish. Serve at 50 degrees in a white wine glass.
