Our flagship Cristallo blend for 2018 features a widely grown, but almost unknown grape of Georgian origin as its main varietal. The Rkatsiteli grape is grown on over 300,000 acres in several Eastern European countries and is of extremely high quality. It has a unique varietal flavor which reminds some tasters of Gewurztraminer or Riesling or a blend of the two. We add some Pinot Blanc, Pinot Grigio and Melon de Bourgogne to complement the Rkatsiteli and produce a dry wine of the kind available only from Avanguardia.
