A winner of gold medals at the 2017 Atlantic Seaboard and Harvest International competitions, this Virginia Bordeaux-style blend is 38% Cabernet Franc, 32% Merlot, 28% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Petit Verdot. The result is a premium medium bodied Virginia Meritage that has hit its stride in 2018 and will continue to mature for 5 to 10 years.
The label features a photograph of the first bridge crossed en route from Slater Run Vineyards to Rectortown on Crenshaw Road. Owner Kiernan Slater’s Great Grandfather, George H. Slater, and four other private citizens built this bridge, and one other on Crenshaw Road, in 1919 to facilitate the transfer of cattle from their Upperville farms to the livestock depot in Rectortown.
