Before Prohibition, Norton wines were deemed the "best red wine of all nations" at a worldwide competition in Vienna. This rare, mysterious grape is making a comeback at better wineries in the Southeast. A Norton or two in your cellar is a must for the serious wine collector, The 2005 Norton won medals at the 2006 NC State Fair and the 2006 Finger Lakes International Wine Competition. The wine is a deep purple with hints of eucalyptus on the nose and a nice tart finish. We love to pair this wine with good hard cheeses.
