Winemaker’s tasting note:
The 2009 vintage in Bennett Valley started early and ended late, and the resulting wine is a classic cool climate Syrah. The nose is full of roasted meats and white pepper, which are boosted by vibrant red fruits. Texturally, the wine is lively and crisp acidity carries the finish where hints of cedar and roasted earth reveal themselves. While not as massive as our previous vintages, the minerality and verve will carry this wine for many years – it may be our most ageable wine to date. It is a perfect pairing for braised beef and game. ~ Russell Bevan, Winemaker
