Wine grapes across California ripened at lower sugars, thanks to the extended, cool growing season. Vintners are praising the full flavors, fresh acidity, and superb balance of this 2019 fruit. The wildfires in October did not impact our wines as the grapes were already harvested and fermenting in our Napa cellar.
These Merlot grapes were fermented in half-ton Macro bins. Manual punch downs were done numerous times daily throughout fermentation. The wine was aged in French oak for 24 months and bottled in December 2021.
