This has been a commitment to barrel patience. But what a fine wine expression of Cabernet Sauvignon, one to note. 1) The nose is of toasty Toasty oak wrapped in fruit, Cabernet aromas very clean 2) The middle palate is where flavor and fragrance collide to a magnificent concentration that will tilt your hat. Rich fruit with a density worthy of note. 3) I am holding my glass as I rattle this last line but I am so pleased that this is for The Bullpen. The real beating of farming is the unpredictability of the weather. This is the first Cabernet Sauvignon released since the 2010 vintage. So those paying attention will understand that mother nature is sometimes stingy with her offerings but generous with those who patiently await her perfection.

1) This Cabernet offers a full nose that made me recall black licorice fragrance. With a wonderful complexity of aromatics I picked up a bit of olive character. The density of the nose is really a charm. The wine shows what I call a Cherry escalation sensation as the fruit climbs to the top of the palate showing comfortably pleasant acidity. 2) The middle palate exposes layers of fruit and spice that are persistent and continuous. The French and Hungarian barrels show a nice combination of toasty and sweet oak. 3) The finish and length of the wine is a round softer tannin that shows varietal Cabernet spice. This wine develops as the wine is allowed to open, so keep an eye on your bottle.

It shows a bit tight but opens nicely to the mid palate 2) The depth of fruit is a bit exciting as it warms because the fruit gets a bit more serious with a bit of tickling freshness. 3) As the wine finishes the fresh and developed fruit dance together which is appealing.
