This Charbono was hand picked from over 60 year old vines my Uncle Charlie and Aunt Lee planted in their youth. It's a beautiful, velvety black wine with lively fruit and earthy balance; much like Uncle Charlies Bride Lee, a city girl who came to Calpella to be with her soldier and farm his family vineyards.
Charbono is a very RARE varietal wine in the United States. There are about 70 acres of it planted in the US. Here in Calpella between us and our neighbors we have close to 15% of those acres!
