About “Hala Kahiki“ (Inspired by the island of Lanai’i) ...................................................................................... With a sip of Hala Kahiki, step back in time to the historic plantation town of Lana’i, where the scent of ripe pineapples fills the air. Tasting notes ...................................................................................... Color: Golden yellow with green reflexes Aroma: Ripe pineapple and mango, hints of lychee Palate: Savory and lively freshness, fine finish with fresh acidity In The Vineyard ...................................................................................... Following a warm January, February and March were very cool, resulting in vines budding late. The second-warmest spring since the beginning of recorded weather led to a conspicuously early flowering in mid- to late May, an early advance in the vegetation cycle that then persisted throughout the hot summer. The consistently hot and dry weather led to the earliest harvest in memory. 2018 gave us fully ripened and rich in extract wines. The aromatic varieties such as Sauvignon Blanc turned out to be typically expressive.
