A single vineyard Riesling made from grapes grown by Matt and Carre Doyle. Doyle Fournier Vineyard (previously called Doyle East Seneca Vineyard) is adjacent and uphill from Silver Thread Vineyard, and has deeper, silt-loam soils. This vineyard was planted in 1973 by Charles Fournier, one of the founding fathers of the modern Finger Lakes wine industry. A classic “Banana Belt” Riesling, this wine has ample stone fruit and pear aromas, plus more weight in the mouth than a typical Riesling. Medium dry. Seneca Lake appellation.
Extremely limited– 50 cases produced.
Sample this Riesling alongside its sisters–Riesling STV Estate Vineyard and Riesling Gridley Bluff Point Vineyard–for the ultimate Finger Lakes Riesling experience.
Tasting notes
An unmistakable “banana belt” Riesling with aromas of ripe pear, baking spices and chalk lead to a voluptuous medium body. Lingering flavors of peach, pear and minerals. Medium dry.
