TASTING NOTES
Cooked boysenberry & cassis fruit enlivened with black pepper & allspice notes on the palate. Full bodied with fleshy olive notes & firm tannins.
WINEGROWING
Grown with a focus on sustainability. These grapes are farmed on alluvial soils mixed with larger volcanic strata. A properly managed, umbrella like canopy allows for just the right air flow and dappled sunlight onto the clusters to achieve maximum quality. The soils of the vineyard site enhances the expression of character for each variety and lends to the uniqueness of the wine.
WINEMAKING
Prior to fermentation the destemmed Syrah must was flooded with a small amount of unfermented Viognier juice to unlock the aromatics and stabilize color. Punched down 3 times daily and pressed to 50% neutral French oak and 50% American single use oak.
