Concentrated, full-bodied blackberry jam notes are complemented by mocha flavors with lingering baking spice & firm tannins. Harvested from one of the Grand Valley’s premier red wine growing sites, nestled up against the Palisade rim cliff under the Grand Mesa.
Grown with a focus on sustainability. These grapes are farmed on alluvial soils mixed with larger volcanic strata. A properly managed, umbrella like canopy allows for just the right air flow and dappled sunlight onto the clusters to achieve maximum quality. The soils of the vineyard site enhances the expression of character for each variety and lends to the uniqueness of the wine.
Harvesting the smallest berries in the valley with a quick destemming and cold soak prior to fermentation. Fermented on the skin then pressed to single use Silver Oak American oak barrels with the addition of 33% new American oak.
