VINEYARD Grovener Estate Snow Vineyard GRAPE VARIETIES 75% Grüner Veltliner 25% Vignoles ABV 12.8% TASTING NOTES A cool weather varietal indigenous to Austria most likely dating back to the Roman times. Successful plantings also thrived in northern Italy where the name was derived from meaning "green grape from the village of Veltlin in the Tirol". Planted in the Grand Valley at cooler vineyard sites, Grüner Veltliner thrives in our unique climate. A versatile food wine with an everlasting, racy acidity profile and a light body. Intense aromatics of lime and green apple with flavors of grapefruit and white pepper. WINEGROWING Grown with a focus on sustainability. These grapes are farmed on alluvial soils mixed with larger volcanic strata. A properly managed, umbrella like canopy allows for just the right air flow and dappled sunlight onto the clusters to achieve maximum quality. The soils of the vineyard site enhances the expression of character for each variety and lends to the uniqueness of the wine. WINEMAKING Whole cluster pressed and fermented cool in stainless steel to retain aromatics. Due to the limited harvest of 2021 we blended in an American cold hardy varietal, Vignoles, to stretch out the volume and add to the Grüner Veltliner character . Picked with a slightly high TA and low pH this wine exhibits an everlasting acidity. AWARDS 2022 Sunset International Wine Competition - SILVER
