Malbec
Rapel Valley
High in the Andes mountains of Argentina and Chile, the vineyards of the region are known for growing some of the finest Malbec grapes in the world, produced in a unique combination of altitude and a climate with warm days and cool evenings. This variance in temperature gives the Malbec its distinct characteristics.
Running Hare Vineyard imports the whole grape from this region of the world to produce our Internationally award winning Malbec. The grape is grown at 3,500’, making for a robust flavor, and a beautiful deep ruby color. Once the fermentation process is complete, the wine is aged in French oak barrels for 2 years.
The result is an incredibly peppery wine that is comparable to the finest Malbec wines from Argentina and Chile. This wine pairs well with classic beef dishes as well as pasta.
