Dark and brooding in the glass, our Cabernet Sauvignon is surprisingly approachable. Full bodied and complex with dark fruit flavors of black cherry and plum. It has good tannins and a savory character of black pepper tobacco, with a mild vanilla finish. An excellent food wine it pairs well with a charred cheese burger, a mushroom pizza with tomato sauce or a ribeye steak.
Tempranillo, is the most famous of the Spanish wine grapes. Medium bodied, with delicate red fruit characteristics it offers flavors of cherry, plum, tomato, and dried fig. Tempranillo pairs well with all types of food because of its savory qualities. This includes, Italian foods such as lasagna, pizza or any dish with a tomato-based sauce, and Mexican foods like tacos, nachos, burritos, and chile rellenos.

A nice tannin structure with low acid that has beautifully balanced earthy and fruit character make this a great wine to pair with a wide range of foods. Dominate flavors are black cherry and licorice with some prune flavors, and a characteristically bitter finish reminiscent of almonds. While the name implies sweetness, the wine is dry and easy to consume.
Nebbiolo is a famous Italian grape that is light red in color, highly tannic in youth and ages well in the 3-5 year range. With aromas and flavors of violets, tar, cherries, raspberries, tobacco, and prunes and a finish of buttery french oak it is complex in nature.
Made originally as a single barrel experiment in our Avant Garde series, the first batch sold out before we could hide any away for ourselves, not so this time. Tobacco and plum come through strongest in aroma, complimented by fainter notes of dark chocolate and dark roast coffee. Spice notes (black pepper and cinnamon) from the Cabernet Franc and from the Rye Whiskey barrel itself are dominant in flavor, the barrel also lending leanness to the wine that helps to cut through rich background notes of bitter chocolate and smoked dates.
