2019 Marley's Merlot

2019 Marley's Merlot

Merlot
OK - Ozark Mountain
$24.00 / 750 mL Bottle

  • Alcohol 13%
Dry red. 13% ABV. Marley’s is a break all the rules merlot. Entirely estate-grown, the fruit struggles with the intense heat and humidity of Oklahoma. Aged in dark-toasted Missouri oak barrels and some Romanian, this light-bodied merlot has an old-world quality to it yet its body and color present it more like a Pinot Noir than a Merlot. Tasting room staff often describe Marley’s as the “pinot noir of Oklahoma.” Bronze winner 2019 San Francisco Chronicle International Wine Competition, 2017 Texas Sommelier contest, 2017 Finger Lakes NY competition. Featured by OSU Culinary Institute at the 2018 Wine Forum.

Notes

Oklahoma tortures its grapes. This is vinifera grown in a combat zone. The survivors get to compete against the sissy grapes from California and France. This is light bodied with Merlot varietal characteristics. You can serve this as you would any Pinot Noir. Try it!
