On February 27, 1827, a group of masked and costumed locals danced in the streets of New Orleans, Louisiana, starting the city of New Orleans information Mardi Gras celebrations. The celebration of Carnival or Mardi Gra as we know it is kicked off between the 12th night of January 6 and Ash Wednesday. There is no place in the United States where Carnival (Mardi Gras or Fat Tuesday) is celebrated as lavish as in New Orleans. Honored for its over-the-top parades during Mardi Gras, our King of Carnival Sweet Red wine is a representation of the lavish parades for which New Orleans Mardi Gras is best known.
