Malbec
American - American
Originating in France during the middle ages, its' moniker was the "Black wine of Cahors". Then in the 1780's it was renamed after Monsieur Malbeck due to his plantings of this grape in Bordeaux. Due to the cool climate of the region, it was not long before Malbec fell from grace in the European markets. Fortunately, a french botanist named Michel Pouget took this vine to Argentina in the 1850's where the climate brought forth its' beautiful, dark, inky deliciousness.
