Norton is a Virginia heirloom grape first cultivated in Richmond in the early 1800's. Norton wine expresses earthy aromas and concentrated flavors of blackberries and chocolate, balanced by resilient acid, which makes it suitable for aging and enjoyable for pairing with rich foods such as barbecued meats, cheeses and Southern fried cuisine.
Vidal Blanc (or Vidal) is a French hybrid varietal produced with the Vitis vinifera varietal Trebbiano (or Ugni Blanc in France) and Seibel 4986 (Rayon d'Or). Vidal wine expresses clean floral aromas with flavors of honey, pineapple, melon and pears. Vidal's off-dry structure pairs well with savory seafood dishes such as pasta and shell fish or grilled Chesapeake rockfish.
Cabernet Franc is a parent grape of Bordeaux’s famous Cabernet Sauvignon but is characterized by a decidedly lighter expression than its descendant. It blooms with lilacs on the nose leading to cracked pepper, cedar and fresh rosemary on the palate. Our Cabernet Franc pairs well with bistro classics such as roast chicken or steak frites.
This french hybrid is dominated by aromas of rhubarb and cloves, with raspberry and bright cherries on the palate. Pairs well with pork chops and savory sausages.
Our label bears the likeness of the French general for whom the grape is named.
