The 2017 R.E.D. includes all three of LDV's red grapes in this blend with characteristics from each grape showing in the finished wine. Limited new oak was used to let the flavors and aromas of the Grenache, Syrah, and Petite Sirah to be expressed. Twenty-five percent of the Grenache was aged in one-year French oak and 50% of the Syrah was aged in one-year American oak with the rest aged in neutral oak barrels. All of the Petite Sirah was aged in neutral oak barrels. This red blend is a very versatile wine to be paired with food. LDV's R.E.D. bends show amazing longevity dating all the way back to 2009 and this vintage will do well with extended aging too.

Notes

Perfect wine to pair with grilled pork chops, pizza, and Italian red sauce dishes. This blend has lots of herbs and spice on the nose with dark cherries and earthiness in the middle and solid but soft tannins on the finish.
