Dark Ruby in color, with medium aromas of dark be3rry fruits [plum, blueberry, black cherry] with additional spice notes [pepper] as well as some floral tones [violet and lavender] The palate showcases the naturally high acidity of PV on the entry, and as the wine moves to the mid palate, you get more of the fine-grained tannins that come from both eh grape and barrel. The flavors are again all dark berry spectrum, with hints of mocha, coffee, bitter chocolate and toast. The palate is medium bodied and this certainly reflects the vintage [slightly cooler, shorter and wetter]. As such this wine is accessible as a young wine and will benefit from another few years in the bottle but I really think that this will drink beautifully between 2 and 4.
