A wine with good extraction, showing Ruby tones with hints of purple.
The nose is fairly pronounced with sour cherries, cranberry, and pomegranate notes with additional notes of earth, forest floor and potpourri.
The palate displays the typical acidity for which Norton is known, with flavors of bright red fruits. There is some tannic grip to the wine which helps soften the vibrant acidity, while the length is long. The oak is integrated nicely with subtle notes of charred oak, coffee and smoky meats.
A wine that has the ability to age for quite a few years due to the acidity. A wine that I would suggest chilling prior to opening, allowing the wine to breathe for an hour or two.
Pair with duck, gamey meats and poultry.
