Deeply inky in color with viscous density due to the higher levels of alcohol. The nose is pronounced with intense aromatics of spice, black fruits, black pepper, fig preserve and coffee tones. The palate is rich and weighty, full bodied but with enough acidity to cut through the texture and richness of the wine. Drippy black fruits, toasted coffee bean and black pepper flavors, with a long/weighted finish. There is a lovely sweetness that comes from the elevated alcohol but all in all, for a powerful wine, it shows restraint and balance. Ageing potential for 6 plus years, but if you were to drink it young, decanting for two hours is recommended. Serve with spicy, gamey dishes and enjoy
