This 2016 Washington State GSM red blend is an exciting blending of 80% Grenache (Olsen - Yakima Valley), 5% Syrah (Stillwater Creek - Columbia Valley), and 15% Mourvedre (Corliss - Red Mountain). We decided the Grenache was so lovely with its typical smooth cherry notes that it deserved a bigger share of the blend for this vintage. The Syrah was so bold we limited the plum, olive and pepper to bring balance. We always use Mourvedre in small amounts because it brings delight with its peppery, spicy notes even in small amounts.
This delightful, medium bodied blend is great by itself or with meals.
