Aged for 48 months in older and neutral oak for an approximate 35% new oak equivalent.  It has a deep Ruby Red color that is fairly concentrated.  The bouquet opens with aromas of black cherry and raspberry. The very modest regimen of oak adds the slightest hint of mocha and leather.  The mouthfeel is dry, medium plus viscosity with soft and silky tannins and good acidity for a clean finish.  The palate opens to a mouthful of black cherry and plum layered with chocolate.  With a little time, it picks up hints vanilla with a touch of pepper and raisins.  The finish is dry but layered with fruit.
