A more complex Riesling, this wine spent 8 months in neutral oak barrels and was then aged 12 more months in stainless steel kegs before being bottled. Residual Sugar level is 5.5% by volume and the sugar level at harvest was 27.7° Brix.

Look for deep intense color and heady aromas with a hint of vanilla and spiciness. Flavors are mouth-filling and robust with notes of black friar plums, dark ripe cherries and often violets. You might even find notes of black pepper and cardamom spice. This wine pairs well with lamb and pork, especially chops with a red wine reduction.

Featured for our 2017 Spring Barrel Tasting event, this Syrah was a hit right out of the barrel. After transferring to French oak for another year of aging, blending with a smaller lot of Estate Syrah to enhance the fruit forward characteristics and a touch of Petite Sirah to give it a spicy note, this has become a favorite of our winemaker and staff.
