Aged for 19 months in new, heavily toasted, fine grain French oak, this medium bodied wine displays aromas of red and black fruits with hints of vanilla wrapped in smoke and wet leaves. On the palate, smooth blackberries and raspberries are joined with clove, caramel and mocha leading to a medium - full lingering and lengthy velvet finish.

Notes

There's promise for Malbec in the San Diego mountains based on this bottling. Plump aromas of red fruit, licorice and wet gravel are more mineral-driven than fruity.
