41% Sangiovese, 28% Shiraz, 24% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Syrah Noir, 3% Merlot
For the 2020 vintage, we made a couple of changes to Rachael's original recipe: The first change was the decision to hang to grapes to extra ripeness which brings our a more rich and bold wine. The next change we made was to ferment the field blend whole cluster - the vineyard, cellar and tasting room crew got into the bin and foot stomped the grapes prior to pitching the yeast. That was a lot of fun! What resulted was a wine with a deep opaque color, rich black fruits and a layered rustic character that will develop as it ages in bottle.
