Dio is a full body red, aged to perfection. In Greek mythology Dionysus, the god of wine, was born of fire and nursed by rain, like the hard burning heat that ripe the grapes and the water that keeps the vines alive. DIO is 60% 2017 Tourgia, 16% 2016 Petit Verdot, 8% 2017 Petit Verdot, 4% Tinta Cao, 4% 2016 Tannat, 4% 2017 Syrah, and 4% 2017 Pinotage. For Horton this a resurrection of our founder, Dennis Horton’s vision for Virginia Wine. Although Dennis had passed when we put this dry blend together, the Hortons’s felt his presence as each barrel was chosen. Please enjoy what Dennis knew all along was possible in Virginia.
