Albarino- Albarino is a Spanish grape. This semi-dry white wine has lime and apple aromas a light body and a clean, crisp finish. Albarino’s resistance to heat and humidity make it an excellent pairing for the Virginia climate. Horton Vineyards is one of the few wineries in Virginia that makes an Albarino varietal. Wine Advocate Robert Parker said: "It was in the bottle for 90 days when seen. This may improve, but you don't have to wait on this; It is gorgeous now and will drink well young to". Also states: "this maybe the best I've seen yet from Horton". This wine is created in steel allowing the natural flavors to come forward. This wine should be enjoyed within six months to a year of purchase. Pairing Suggestions: clams, oysters, steamed mussels, cream pasta dishes, grilled fish Residual Sugar: 0% Black Cat Chardonnay- Fermented in French oak barrels, our Chardonnay is rich and creamy, reminding you of butter. This chardonnay is smooth and aromatic. Residual Sugar: 0.6% Our Chardonnay pairs beautiful with pan-seared scallops, cream based pasta dishes. TitforTat- A dry red wine that displays bold, dark fruit flavors followed by tannins, with an earthy mid-palate and a spicy finish. Residual Sugar: 0% This wine pairs wonderfully with grilled foods, aged soft cheeses, or cured meats. Tannat- Dennis Horton was the first in the state to discover the true potential of Tannat. Originally from Southwest France, this bold red is a beautiful, full bodied smooth, dry wine. Perfect for the adventurous drinker or any connoisseur. Residual Sugar: 0% Tannat is a perfect match for roasted meats and game, as well as sausages and strong aged cheeses. The 2014 Tannat won a Sliver medal in the Texsom International Wine Awards and a Gold medal at the Virginia State Fair. Pinotage- Pinotage was created in 1925 in South Africa when scientist cross bread a Pinot Noir and Cinsault together. They were having problems, as does most of the world, getting Pinot Noir to grow. The Pinotage grapes are darker than Pinot Noir in color and the bold tannins are unlike its counterpart. Residual Sugar: 0 Pairing: Roasted Portabella mushrooms, chocolate mousse, Curry dishes Blackberry- The bold blackberry flavors mixed with the subtle oak and tannic finish of the red wines is a wonderful combination. This flavor forward wine can be very versatile. This wine is also a great base for a mixer or sangria. Residual Sugar: 6% Pairing: Pork chops, beef tenderloin or dessert Erotes- This wine was created in the traditional Methode Champenoise. It is 100% Touriga National . Erotes has beautiful summer berry aromas. It starts off with a raspberry flavors with a crisp dry finish. Paring: Fresh burrata with roasted red pepper on a crostini, Fresh berry tart, Fettuccine alfredo, Oysters Residual Sugar: 0% Eclipse White- Eclipse white is a semi-sweet sipping wine. This wine has layers of flavors including honeysuckle, peach and apricots. Residual Sugar: 3.4% Pairings: Grilled cheese, fresh fruit, fried chicken Eden- Even though the Eden is made from 100% Local apples Juice. Its perfect for dessert. The Eden is deliciously sweet, reminding you of liquid apple pie in your glass. Since this wine is so sweet it makes the perfect pairing with your extra sharp cheeses but nothing hits the spot like a piece of homemade apple pie. Pinotage Rose 2017- This dry Pinotage Rose wine is another fine example of Dennis Horton's vision and continuing the tradition of pioneering new and different wine from Virginia. Aromas of Clementine and pear blossoms lead to flavors of rhubarb and strawberry and a surprisingly hefty mid-palate balanced by firm acidity and a graceful finish. Residual Sugar: 0% Pairs with Spicy chicken parmesan, pork belly tacos, or fine marinated skirt steak. Cranberry- This wine has bright characteristics, a sweet flavor and a slightly tart finish. It can be used as a mixer for a refreshing summer cocktail. Residual Sugar: 10.4% Pairing: Holiday meals, roast beef sandwich with horseradish mayo or cranberry and pear tart.
