This varietal, known as Mourvèdre in France and Monastrell in Spain, was introduced to California as Mataró. Our Mataró exhibits classic savory notes of leather, game and meat. Black pepper intertwines with notes of violet, gravel, and baked black fruits, leading to rustic tannins and an extended, earthy finish.
