Petit Verdot - Originally characterized as the lesser known Bordeaux Variety used in Bordeaux blends to provide depth and color. In Virginia, the terroir and climate leads to excellent varietal character such that in the best harvest years one can bottle as a varietal...such was the case in 2019. The 2021 vintage is a full bodied dark and chewy wine. Aromas of crushed plum, rich earth and slate entice one further where concentrated blue and blackberry fruit, plus hints of vanilla await. The perfect wine to enjoy with hearty beef dishes.
