Crispy and fruity unoaked Chardonnay, offers floral nose with hints of fig and slight caramelization. On the palate it suggests notes of green apple and honeydew that ends gracefully with a classic Chardonnay finish.
This is a crowd pleasing Chardonnay that is incredibly food-friendly, the acidity and freshness are the core of this well-balanced wine.
A deep ruby colored wine that tends towards having moderately low acidity making it milder (i.e. softer) than bitter edged tannins. The result is a smooth, drinkable wine that tends to improve for three or four years after vintage.
The most famous Montepulciano wine comes from the Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Denominazione di Origine Controllata (DOC). This wine has a deep, rich color, strong aromatics and a full-bodied, robust structure.
Flanigan’s Montepulciano wine with it’s deep-color, has ripe tannins that do not overpower. These earthy characteristics make it an ideal drinkable partner to game meats, beef, and spicy and peppery foods.
Tannat varietal can be very complex on the palate. By it’s very name it is identified as “tannic”, with black fruit flavors, like blackberry and black currant. It can also show chocolate or espresso flavors. It is rich, with lots of structure and complexity, with the added quality of being somewhat savory.
Tannat wines typically taste of dark red fruit, raspberry and sometimes blueberry is also cited as an outreach flavor type.
Owing to its high tannin levels, Tannat is sometimes touted as having health benefits, although there is little reliable medical sources to support this. But at Flanigan’s, we hope that does not prevent you from enjoying the entertainment quality of this lovely rich bold tannic wine.
Tannat is associated with the Madiran region of France, but may actually have arisen in the Basque country just the other side of the Pyrenees Mountains from Madiran.
