This tradition started in the 2011 season. When filling barrels after pressing, we had small amounts (5-15 gallons) of several different lots of wine that did not fit. We took these small pieces and put them together in one barrel we names Frankenstein, or Frank for short. Initially we thought we may use this barrel to top the others in the cellar when they became low. In 2011, after tasting the one Frank barrel, we decided it was too good to lose and chose to bottle this special blend just as it was. We continue you this tradition in our good years. This blend changes every year and is the last wine to be blended after everything else. In 2016 the blend is of Petite Sirah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot.
