Dusty ruby color. Aromas of smoked nuts, dried berries, peppery spice, and tomato chutney with a silky, dry-yet-fruity medium-to-full body and a tangy, mineral and herb accented finish. A classy Old World red that will shine on the table.
Produced by a modified saignee method, this wine is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Syrah, Pinot Noir and Petit Verdot. Because there is moderate skin contact, this wine exhibits complex fruit flavors without the astringency associated with more robust wines. Great for picnics on a hot summer day. Serve slightly chilled.
This wine was the highest scoring wine in the Southern region by Wine Spectator Magazine. It has aromas of minced pie and fruit cake with cherry butter and spiced nut overtones, deep ruby color and a long , lingering finish.
